Regional Development Australia Adelaide Metro Welcomes new Chief Executive Officer

Regional Development Australia Adelaide Metro is excited to announce that Chris Wood has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

Chris has been a senior executive for 25 years working in international trade and investment in both the private and public sectors.

He was based in Japan as a Diplomat and Trade and Investment Commissioner and was Head of Austrade’s Agribusiness and Energy teams across North East Asia which includes the key markets of Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan. Since 2012 he has been Managing Director of his own trade and investment consultancy where he has continued to facilitate complex

commercial opportunities in global markets for South Australian companies while also providing feedback for policy development at both the state and federal level to senior political and departmental contacts.

RDA Adelaide Metro is one of 8 RDA’s in the State with Its key role to facilitate connections and economic development opportunities between Metro and the Regions, and to champion investment and project initiative for the State with its key stakeholders, including the Federal Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development & Communication.

He has a strong knowledge of Regional SA and has secured export markets and investment for his clients to unlock long- term sustainable projects, including infrastructure development and international joint ventures, to invigorate the local economy, build wealth and create jobs. He is also fluent in Japanese.
